Well howdy How Folks!
I posted up for some AMA the other day and I'm finally getting around to your questions. I've been super busy with work lately but things are going good. I unfortunately though haven't had much time to interact with you fine people as much anymore.
Nevertheless, I got some answers for you.
First off from Mike Wallace:
Where did you go and why did you leave us and who are you?
I didn't really go anywhere. I just haven't been around as much as I used to. I've been getting consumed by work and life and haven't had as much time to hang out here like I used to.
As for who I am, Hi, I'm ooktar. I joined Destructoid around 3 years ago. I initially came because of Podtoid when it was hosted by Jim Sterling, Jonathan Holmes and Conrad Zimmerman but I ended up staying because of people like Andy Dixon and Occams and the overall communities like minded love of games and the culture surrounding them. It's one of the first websites I've felt comfortable sharing and exposing myself a bit to the community here.
Second Question comes from Hlarge4:
Do any Black Friday Shopping?
Nope, I stayed home and avoided the masses. The only thing that appealed to me was the new 3DS for $99 but not so much as to deal with the throngs of people. Besides, Cyber Monday is usually better. A couple years back I got my PSVita and my 3DS on Cyber Monday for only about $350 total.
Next up, Greenhornet214:
Fuck, Marry, Kill: Sonic, Mario, Master Chief.
I'd marry Mario because at least he's got a job, I'd fuck Sonic because I know it'll be over fast, and I'd kill Master Chief for being so dull.
Now for Funkotrons Finest:
Is ooktar a first or Last name.
Yes.....
Weslikestacos had a slew of questions:
1: How old are you?
I'm a Strapping Young Lad of only 24 years in people years.
2: Where were you born?
I manifested my being in San Jose, California
3: How many sports games do you currently own.
The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Fight Night Champion, Blitz: The League 2, Super Mega Baseball and NBA Street Volume 2. I'm not a sports games fan generally unless there's some kind of gimmick or it's dumbed down to be more fun than technical. Unless of course if you count Mario Kart.
4: Am I on Fire?
Yes, because you light my candle baby.
5: Wanna Smooch?
Only if there's tongue.
Ein on Shrooms gets personal:
Why'd you pick Ooktar?
I stole it way back when I was a kid and it's been sorta my handle ever since. I've used it for most websites I've joined and it's just sorta grown on me. As for the character, I only know him from the Christmas special and the name just stuck with me.
Kaleido Ruby is next:
What did you think of Atlantis?
I haven't actually watched it since I was a kid but I remember enjoying it. I at least thought the animation was fantastic. I can't remember much of it to be honest but I'd be willing to watch it again. I also remember it was like the first Disney animated film to not have a musical number.
SrChurros gets really deep with his question:
Favorite Pokeymenz?
Snorlax and Meowth best Pokeymenz evar! Come at me Brah!
GoofierBrute comes in here with 4 questions like he's special or something:
1: What is the Meaning of Life?
42
2: Favorite game of 2016?
I haven't actually played a lot of games that came out this year. Probably a toss up between Star Fox Zero, Hyper Light Drifter and DOOM.
3: Favorite Genre of Music?
I'll always be a Rock and Metal guy, but I love all sorts of music.
4: If there was a game I could erase from my memory, what would it be and why?
Gone Home is probably my first choice. I'll never understand the praise that game got after playing through it myself. I just thought it was an incredibly cliche and dull story line and the whole game felt like it was leading to a great twist that never happened.
Assassins Creed III also. Between the unlikable protagonist, glitches and bugs galore, a dull game world, collectibles with no real reward for collecting them and one of the biggest kicks in the balls of an ending I've seen, it pretty much killed my interest in Assassin's Creed which sucks as I loved Assassin's Creed up to that point. I did play and enjoy 4 a lot but that barely felt like Assassin's Creed and I haven't bothered with Unity or Syndicate.
Alon Lessel loves Bloodborne apparently:
The red moon hangs low, and the beasts rule the streets, Are we left no other choice, than burn it all to cinders?
And that's it for now folks. If you got any you want answered leave them below and I'll get to them........ eventually.
