While the connotation of this article-review hybrid may seem negative, it's not? I haven't really landed on a stable position with this game. I have had fun with it so far, yes. I'm just not sure if I'm going to invest in it the way the designers want me to. I find it to be a cute and quirky distraction from the day to day. And as a fan of the series, I enjoy the various references and general game play. But it's not the most fun thing I've picked up and I will probably not continue to invest hard-earned money into it past what I've already spent...which is a bit more than I care to disclose. All in all, I can't say that I expected less Amiibo in a game with Amiibo right in the title. But I think that this may be another unfortunate example of how not to use Amiibo support in a game, as it only serves to make the player feel tethered to their figures while simultaneously scared of their wallets.
