Hello, Zack! Im a 23 year old male from New York. I have an active social life, and have no problem meeting girls. But there is one noticeable "annoyance" in my life - video games bore me. Yes, you heard that right! Games are boring me, but why? Well let me explain, I own a Wii and 360 and cant seem to finish any games! This is strange cause I love reading about video games, and I listen to numerous video game podcast, shit, I even have a video game blog! I guess the question of me getting bored of games is a complicated one. Maybe Im growing up? Nah, there are plenty of people older than me who actively enjoy games. Maybe Im interested in other things, or my life is not going well? Hmmm, I am an active reader, play guitar, good looking, pretty good with the ladies, and snazzy dresser (I got these fabulous boots from Topshop the other day). Damn, then maybe the problem is with this generation of games? Hmmm, I have the same problem with retro games. Look, Zach, Ive always loved games and I respect it as an art form, but they seem to bore me now. I dont like this feeling. Every time I spend fifteen minutes with a game, my mind wanders to other things. Its a chore to finish a level! Zach, this never happen before, I dont want to lose the medium thats been with me since I was a child. Zach, no, I dont want to play Bulletstorm! Zach, I cant even play my favorite games anymore! What is that? Try ipod games? Zack, I have an ipod touch and I barely use it. Yes, you heard me - I use my ipod touch exclusively for music. I have zero apps for it. Zach, this is all going down the shitterNo, I dont want to be involved in the gaming industry. Jeez, maybe my interests in video games are gone, but can you explain my love for adsorbing every piece of information related to video games What the hell did you say? Take that back!... I think youre right. I may be a casual gamer! OHMYGOD
Yes, Im a "hardcore-casual" gamer. I still love games, but I simply play- the few- that interests me. For example, I cant wait to play Catherine and The Last Guardian, but those are most likely the only games I will play this year, such a shame, video games I love you, but you simply cant keep my interest anymore. Well, most games cant. To come to think about it, most games Im exciting to play end up boring me.*Looks at Half-Life 2* Oh gosh, I think Ill go play outside... Look, Zach, and everyone at Dtoid, I'm not knocking video games, and I hope this is just a phase, but I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this. Please, share your horror stories on this phenomenon. Let me know I'm not the only man who feels this way.
