Pizza's Multiplayer Thing: 5-22-2017 (EDIT)

First, let me formally apologize for not being around at all this weekend. Work is ramping up again this season, and I was busy all weekend. By the time I was done, I was too beat to put any effort into gaming. Every weekend is going to be like this for the next three months at least. Depending on when I get out, I can still catch games at night, but I can’t make promises.

Which especially sucks this coming weekend in particular, since this weekend Overwatch will be free to play, and the Arms Global Test Punch will be going down. I was especially looking forward to possibly playing some Overwatch with people on PS4, since I don’t own it for that console (I’m on PC). The Arms demos are happening next weekend as well, so there’s a second chance if I can’t this weekend.

I also have some new ideas for this multiplayer thing:

If you are going to be consistent with your availability, leave it in the comments, and if you’re comfortable with me doing so, I want to include it every week in my blog. This way, you don't have to comment every week (and Disqus won't let you copy and paste the same exact comment more than one time, but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong), and it increases the visibility for new people. It’ll be in it’s own section at the end of the blog at the beginning of the week. Gmana holds a MK8 tournament every weekend, and Fuzunga during the week, so I’ll include those as well. I might organize it by game in the future, but I’ll wait until we have more people, just to see which games are the most popular. I was thinking of doing it by console as well, but I want to keep it as casual as possible (plus, this blog is already borderline FNF already haha).

I forgot to mention this last week (though, some of you were kind enough to include it anyway), but make sure you provide your usernames and friend codes. I know Panda works very hard on the Master Gaming List, which you should check out and contribute to if you haven’t because it’s awesome and Panda is awesome, but leaving it here will be convenient.

There’s also the problem of communication. While leaving availability in the comments will work for now, I want to provide a more instantaneous and direct way of getting in touch with people to play. TurboJasper made a Discord Channel for MK8 chatting (with HypnoCoffin helping out by setting up nicknames with your friend codes), and there’s always the Multiplayer Communicord, so for now this might be okay.
