Some dude made gameplay videos of our beta Demo, and he beat it without any instructions! This is awesome :D (By the way, we added the much needed checkpoint before that cruel fire pit part).

 
 

Is it bad that I use my switch only to play Binding of Isaac? Can't get enough of that damn game, played it twice as much hours as Zelda and I'm not stopping anytime soon.

 
 

Just wanted to share the work of my pal, @Omegachainoboy (that's his twitter)! He's making some sprite upgrades to retro stuff. He's also the main artist on our game! :D


 
 

After that article about the possibility of a live-action megaman movie, I remembered my take on Megaman's redesign for the horrid cartoon announcement from last year.


 
 

I made this for another small art jam, dedicated to Link. Of course, he has to be really angry otherwise I'd refuse to draw anything.


 
 

To continue with the drawings, I also made this apocalyptic brutal alien/undead struggle thing for our game! Look how amused that zombie is.


 
 

Some months ago some FB artist threw a "remake an old VG cover" jam, here's the cover I got and my version. It was a really interesting exercise!

Zombies, metal Endoskeletons, alien Things, Mutant Dogs, Cyber Doors. This is the kind of Sci-Fi that inspires us!


 
 

Making death animations has been one of the most fun parts of development so far!


 
 

Dive kicks, Parry, dash, wall slide. We've tried to give our character our favorite abilities from our favorite games! :D The beta demo should be out this very week. Please look forward to it and share it with your retro-2d-sidescroller-lover friends!

A simple tileset for the Virtual Dojo stage. We'll include a training mode so you can test out your Combos and super moves!


 
 

We've been slowing down progress on our demo thanks to good old paperwork bureaucracy issues, but let's hope we can have a beta demo soon enough. We really need to start getting some funding after that!

 
 

This will probably be the basic moveset to start our game! Should be enough to battle mutant zombies, robots and aliens I guess.

Charging animation! Our character will charge up to 3 levels, for a forward dash attack. Higher level deals more damage and covers longer distances, for those tricky jumps.


 
 

Let's pour one for Master George Romero, who inspired many great brutal movies and games. Let many zombies be slain in his name.

Working on LVL99: AxeRage. It is an homage to our team's golden gaming age, from 80's to 90's.

The beta demo is out! Try it if you like this kind of stuff!
Titles like Megaman X, Castlevania, Street fighter, and Super Metroid, are the inspirations that drive us to create this game. It includes a B-Movie feeling as well, because we just love that stuff! Gore, fantasy sci-fi, robots, aliens, and apocalyptic scenarios blend in perfectly with our vision for an action packed adventure, so in the end LVL99 AxeRage is a reflection of all the badass brutal stuff we enjoy, and we hope you can enjoy it as well!
