Best opening for my Retro GOTY Awards 2022 goes to: Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. Listening to that iconic "SEGA" at the beginning, plus Vyse from Skies of Arcadia making a return? Immediately sold. Runner up goes to: Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight.

Best character for my Retro GOTY Awards 2022 goes to Glottis (Grim Fandango), and runner up to Cole (Gears of War). Also, Best Antagonist goes to Dimentio (Super Paper Mario) and runner up to Regent of the Mask (Ninja Gaiden 3). Nominees in the comments:

Best narrative for my Retro GOTY Awards 2022 goes to: Grim Fandango. Its commentary on work class, the importance of co workers, humbleness, and lust is 10/10. Such an excellent driven narrative. 2nd place to Super Paper Mario. Nominees in the comments:

40/last game is almost beaten, but my Retro GOTY awards 2022 are going to start tomorrow December 1st until the 30th. Best multiplayer has been replaced by Best new game genre. So thrilled to share this again. Top 10/Retro GOTY nominees are shown. + Below

#39 Game beaten in 2022 goes to: Shovel Knight Dig. As far as roguelikes is concerned, I know very little. However, the mix of that genre with Shovel Knight's unique controls is really addictive. I screamed out of frustration a lot, but was all worth it.

#38 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake. So many improvements done from its predecessor. It's interesting to see how those gameplay mechanics from 1990 translated and evolved beautifully to a 1998 3D game. Long live this series.

Guys, Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. I, for one, don't live in the US but will still hold a mini thanksgiving dinner activity in my English classes. Remember to be thankful for whatever it was you managed to accomplish. Enjoy yourselves.

#37 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Grim Fandango. Adventure games have won me over this year, and this one is the best of the bunch. The voice acting, narrative, dialogue, everything is perfectly crafted to that end. Truly a story to play at least once.

#36 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Rule of Rose. I'm glad a friend lent it to me. If this had been an adventure game with no combat elements, fine. However, the story and atmosphere, though heavily inspired by other games, did the job. Had me hooked for days

#35 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Super Paper Mario. I haven't played the GC one, but will soon. Still, this one changed it's expected gameplay, which is risky, without losing the fun factor. That is reason alone to admire it. One of the best I've played.

#34 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge. I know a lot, mostly negative things have been said about this but I actually loved it. The gameplay changes, the difficulty, and that character development of Ryu was very well done. Enjoyed it

Really enjoyed this year nominees announcement for The Game Awards 2022. Now to wait and watch how the game awards orchestra delivers greatly again.

Wanted to play TTYD but went with this instead. The mix of traditional 2D Super Mario with Paper Mario gameplay plays amazingly for me. Being able to control Luigi is great. Between this, Grim Fandango, and FF 6 Pixel Remaster, I'm finishing 2022 big time

#33 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Just Dance 3. With this I've finally played through the entire series until the release of 2023 edition on November 22nd. It's interesting how experimental it all was back then n how Just Dance has gotten so far. Good times

#32 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Gears of War 2. The 1st was a blast and this one only made me enjoy the time with this series more. The level design, the boss battles, the sound design. A great sequel. Jesus, those boss battles were beautifully designed.

#31 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Ju On The grudge Haunted house simulator. For years I had been wanting to play it, and negative reviews kept me from even try it out. However, as part of this year's Halloween special I bit the bullet and loved this one.

Chris, hi there. Had to do it. Anyway, happy birthday to you, dude. Keep on giving us those 9999 confidence and good vibes points the way you do. Best wishes.

#30 Game beaten in 2022 goes to Xenogears. So much potential and design choices that didn't align with some story beats. I wanted more voice acting, explanations, more sound tracks but oh well. CD 2 hurt the game so much. 10 more games to beat this year.

Wanting to do a Halloween activity in my classes, I suddenly chose 2 Dracula's lines from Castlevania SOTN. The 1st was to have an interpretation of that famous quote, while the 2nd was like a push. Both cases worked well and I'm glad my students liked it

Selfietoid? Or Halloweentoid? Either way, this was the best I could do for a costume this year. Happy Halloween, everyone 😊

Out of boredom, I finally found this. Don't know if any of you remember 'Fragile Dreams: Farewell ruins of the moon' but the game's story is one I really love, specially listening to notes by the campfire. Such good writing I wanted to share with you.

For years I have been wanting to try this game out. So far I am in year 2 and I'm just loving it. That voice acting and use of English and Spanish is a delight.

I was skeptical about these Pixel Remasters. However, after seeing that out of those FF6 is among the best games released this year, I got curious, plus the new orchestrated ost and redone opera scene in various languages(voiced). Started it and loving it

Dead Space, RE4 Remake, Alone in the Dark, Fatal Frame 4 being finally released (legally) outside of Japan, and the next Silent Hill 2 remake. I am pleased to see these return, and though I won't be playing these any time soon, their existence is enough.

#29 Game beaten in 2022 goes to: Gears of War. New series and one that works pretty well for me. As for cover shooters is concerned, I came from Uncharted yet the level of gunplay, and interaction between characters here is fully action packed. Cole rocks
