Thanks for the awesome song, Alphadeus!

I can't stop watching this.

#Falltoid Over the Garden Wall, one of the best animated series in recent years. Rewatching it is a new fall-time tradition for me.

Hindsight Part III: Nintendo Hardware

Hindsight is a fascinating thing. I enjoy looking back at media from the past, such as articles, news, and video speculating on topics from both the near and distant future. Whether it is the outcome of an athletic event, national even...

My Zero Time Dilemma watch arrived in the mail today. If you don't hear back from me, I've probably been kidnapped and forced to play the Decision Game. Or I'm watching some college football.

I managed to get tickets to see Brian Wilson in concert in a few weeks! He's on tour to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pet Sounds and will perform the album in its entirety. Cannot wait to see one of my favorite artists perform live.

If you were recruited by the Mundane X-Men, what would you consider your superpower? I can usually wake up and turn my alarm clock off less than a minute before it goes off.

Kubo and the Two Strings: A Film Review

If you must blink, do it now. These striking words open perhaps the most engaging, heartfelt, well-animated film of the year, Kubo and the Two Strings. The fourth feature film from animation studio Laika is a stop-motion marvel. Kubo ...

Booktoid? S. by JJ Abrams and Doug Dorst is a treat. It has two stories: one printed on-page and one written in the margins, as two people try to solve the mystery within. The book was made to look and feel old, like something pulled from a library shelf.

I made a silly thing today. After having Sabotage from the Beastie Boys stuck in my head the past few days after seeing Star Trek Beyond, I mashed the song with the theme from Thomas the Tank Engine. The song is posted in the comments here.

Spinoff-Toid? Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for me. My favorite rhythm game, based on one of the best series soundtracks out there.

Still waiting patiently for my copy of Zero Time Dilemma from Amazon. Though the game and watch are separate now, my copy has no ship date. Frustrating after pre-ordering the game a year ago, but Amazon offered a discount on the game and a $10 credit.

Went hiking up in the Smokies. Was perfect weather and almost totally silent. It's so beautiful in the mountains.

I finished a new song cover: 'A Day in the Life of a Tree' by The Beach Boys. It's one of their deep cuts and one of my favorites. This is the first time I've played an instrument in a cover, so I'd love some feedback! The link's in the comments.

I had a dream last night that I went to a flea market and found Super Mario Bros. 4 and a cart racer starring Winston Churchill, both for the N64. Got 'em for five bucks. Why can't dreams be reality?

Went hiking up in the Great Smoky Mountains. I saw three deer, five bears (from inside a car), and chatted with a bunch of nice folks hiking the Appalachian Trail. Perfect weather and a gorgeous view.

Had surgery today. While loopy on anesthesia afterward, I vaguely remember talking with the nurse about the best way to beat The Oregon Trail.

Trying out a Beach Boys vocal cover. The biggest challenge is definitely:

Just watched the finale to Gravity Falls. It's tough saying goodbye to such an exceptional series after keeping up with it since almost the beginning, but what a way to go. If you've never watched it, I highly recommend it.

My favorite moment from Just Cause 3 so far. I couldn't stop laughing at the levitating pilot.

About Bardleyone of us since 2:51 PM on 09.29.2014

Hi all, I'm Bardley.

I've been gaming ever since I was a kid, starting with the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy, both of which I still own and use. In the past few years, I've really enjoyed getting into retro game collecting. It's a blast playing games that were made before my time or that I have missed over the years. I have stuff from the Magnavox Odyssey 2 up to modern systems and enjoy them all.

It's incredible just how much video games have changed and advanced in the decades since their inception; I can't wait to see where games go from here.
