For a Few Consoles More: RAW Is Console War

Some months ago, I put to paper one of the silliest, most moronic things I have ever written. A Fistful of Consoles: The End of the Console War was a short piece of writing in which I personally ended the seventh console war by comparing ...

Breathing New Life into (Un)Death

Zombie games are overdone. This statement has become something of a motto in some circles, particularly circles of people who follow the games industry and games media extensively, and those who enjoy analysing and observing the ever-s...

In Defence of BioWare

In the wake of the recent announcement that EA now owns the rights to develop and publish core Star Wars games, some predictable yet reasonable discussions have arisen around the internet pertaining to what these game might actually be....

A Blank Poem

Hey there Destructoid, it's been a while since I've written anything because I've been sick (and busy with "important" work), but I thought I'd try something different today. Here is different: Let me tell you the tale of a man most ordi...

BioShock Infinite Reminds Me Why I Love Videogames

[Warning: This article contains some minor spoilers for BioShock Infinite) Ive always been insecure about divulging my age on the internet, particularly within pieces of writing that I publish on the Internet. When Im discussing the in...

John Riccitiello and the Corporate Allegory

As bleak as the morning was, John Riccitiello (or Johnny C as his cool new friends had begun to address him affectionately) was in high spirits. Pulling on his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pyjamas, he bounded down the stairs, gleeful at t...

How Halo 4's Story Baffled This Halo Journeyman

I just beat Halo 4. Im a little late to the party as usual, and before jumping into the campaign I decided to rummage around in the dark crevices of my brain and internally swot up on whatever Halo knowledge was lurking in the shadows. C...

Multiplayer Within Context

Over the past three years or so, various game developers (and often more notably their publishers) have come under fire from gamers and industry folk for the so called shoehorning of multiplayer elements into what are often primarily si...

The Most Overlooked Game of 2012

While it might seem a little late to still be doing ____ of 2012 articles, there are some things that cannot be left un-said. Amidst each years appalling disasters and critics darlings, there sits a graveyard of games neither brillian...

SuperCrow's Top 5 Games of 2012

As a new year unceremoniously kicks us in our collective groins and barks at us to get back to work/school/being poor, we can look back on 2012 and the gaming stories it brought with it. There were public relations nightmares, development...

Preview/Review: Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight!

For those of you who arent aware, Amnesia Fortnight is an annual event held by legendary development studio Double Fine. In this two week period, the studio takes a break from whatever game they are currently working on, and divides the ...

Dishonored is the Perfect Assassin's Creed Game

The original Assassins Creed, despite its repetitive information gathering missions and rather silly plot, was pretty great. It was essentially a series of assassination missions, wherein the player could plan their attack route and st...

I Never Asked For This: Video Games vs Movies

Following announcements regarding Michael Fassbenders apparent involvement in the Assassins Creed movie slated for the end of 2013, as well as announcements regarding Scott Derricksons (he wrote Sinister apparently) involvement in the m...

A Fistful of Consoles: The End of the Console War

Remember the great console war of the seventh generation? Cries of Filthy casual! and Microsoft fanboy! thrown about online forums. The piercing whistle of a Wii-mote as it passed your ears, missing its target by mere centimetres. Im...

The Smaller Things in Life

Im getting pretty sick of saving the world/galaxy/universe. Its always important to feel like what youre accomplishing in a game matters to somebody or something. Your actions need to have value, be it a sense of accomplishment for re...

About SuperCrowone of us since 6:32 PM on 03.02.2012

I am Liam, an English and Media student. I run a blog called The Vocal Protagonist with a friend of mine: https://thevocalprotagonist.tumblr.com/

My favourite games are RPG's, Puzzle Platformers and anything with an engrossing, engaging world or narrative. No brand loyalty here, but my favourite system is probably the good ol' Playstation 2.

Currently playing: The Basement Collection, Dishonored
