Toys R Us cancels Les Paul orders for the Wii

   0
God freakin' damn it! I pre-ordered the standalone Les Paul guitar for the Wii version og Guitar Hero III, and they just canceled my order. The item is now listed as not being available for ordering on-line. I just got the following e-mail:

Dear Valued Customer,

We are reaching out to you today to let you know that the item(s) you
ordered is still in a backorder status. Since we do not anticipate
receiving additional inventory from our vendors your order will be
canceled. You should be receiving an email shortly confirming the
cancellation of your order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may
cause you.

We would like to invite you to check our website periodically as we are
constantly updating inventory and adding new products. If you are
interested in placing a new order, for a different item, please feel
free to do so online or call us at 1-800-ToysRUs. An online customer
service specialist will be more than happy to assist you and can take
your order over the phone!

We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Sincerely,

Toysrus.com Customer Service

I guess the upside is that the full item is still available on-line for only $10 more. Considering that Activision actually expects us to return our defective, monaural game disc so that we won't be able to play for the game for who-knows-how-long while they correct their f*ck up, maybe paying the extra $10 is worth it so that we can still play while we await the replacement CD.

About John Bone of us since 1:15 AM on 11.26.2006

As one of the oldest members of Dtoid, (I'm already over the big 4-0) I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 was a brand new item, and thousands of my teenage hours were dedicated to gaming on the Commodore 64 and messing around with the new 300-baud modems. (That's .00003 of a megabit per second, for those of you who only know broadband.)

I'm proud to say that I'm a member of the first-generation of gamers, and I still use my PC and each of the three current-gen consoles regularly -- and not for "casual" games. Bring on the hard-core FPS and 3PS! I want to shoot something!

So, I give a big PHUCK YOU!!! to anyone who thinks that video games are for kids! As far as I'm concerned, they haven't been for kids for over 20 years.

GAME ON!
