Phils Game/Pop Music Similarities #240 - Smoothest Final Boss Music U Ever Heard

Featuring Treasure Hunter G and several.

Greetings fellow game music lovers,

as promised, another entry for Treasure Hunter G (1996) the last game of Squaresoft for the Super Famicom. This time it is the final boss music that plays while you fight the horrifying Bone Dino.

yeah, you can stop laughing now!

There is an awful lot of music from different genres that seem to have comparable sequences although I think it may all end up in  romantic era waltz like music. Some examples:

From the caribbean.

Susan Cadogan - "Nice and Easy" (1977):

Brother Resistance -"Ring the Bell" (1987). Aim for the steel pan in the background:

Then we have this snippet from the Ohio state hymn "Beautiful Ohia" (1918):

It seems to have been inspired by works of Rimsky-Korsakov and Stephen Foster but I couldn't find it there:

Or maybe this snippet from Franz Lehar's operetta : "Die Lustige Witwe" (1861):

A prototype might already be found in

Franz Schubert - String Quartet No.14, D810 "Death and the Maiden":

And maybe Johannes Brahms - "Piano Sonata No. 1";

Summer is nearing is end...just a few weeks before the fall program starts.

Phil out.
