Featuring Kabuki Quantum Fighter, Funk and Calypso.
Greetings fellow game music lovers,
in the heat of the summer, another sample from an NES classic: Kabuki Quantum Fighter from 1990. A platformer where your player character is transferred into a computer in order to defeat a virus on a killer Satellite or so. Your avatar inside the platform is a Kabuki character with long red hair that you can use to headbang enemies for great justice.
Our focus today lies on the boss theme which sounds like this:
The sequence is fairly simple, so it isn't surprising that I have multiple leads. The first is a popular standard in the Funk genre:
