Featuring Zelda - Ocarina of Time and mostly caribbean music.
Greetings fellow game music lovers,
caribbean series continues, but due to my vacation my comment has to be a little shorter than usual. Nevertheless, I can keep up the mood by presenting another song with very likely caribbean origins: The shop theme from Zelda 64 - Ocarina of Time.
There are many songs in the caribbean with a similar backing and tone, most in the cuban region. Some examples:
Ramón Veloz y Coralia Fernández - "El Empanadillero " (before 1955):
Bush Medicine - "Sound Revolution" (1987):
Hard to hear. Aim for the backing:
Bebo Valdés - "Tirando Tiro (Guaracha)" (1955):
Mostly rhythmic:
King Radio - "Chip Chip Water" (before 1947):
More caribbean next week!
Phil out.
