TGIF Open Thread!

Good morning Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Friday!

And just like last week, this Friday is a special one. It's the day before we say goodbye to the hellish year that was 2021 and welcome in the new year that is hopefully a bit better for us all in 2022. This year seemed to fly right by and I hardly did shit in it. 2021 was shit for a lot of reasons. Covid is still going hard and making us its bitch and sadly, most around the world seem to be somehow content with that. There has been shortages of just about everything making getting certain services or aquiring certain products nearly impossible. Were you one of the lucky ones who snagged a next gen console? I lucked out and got my Series X but I'm going to be feeling my missed opportunity of landing a PS5 once the new Horizon and God of War come out. As if that wasn't bad enough, big game releases have seen massive delays all year and it was basically a running joke.

Going into 2022, there's hope that it might be better. Will it? Who the hell knows but I'm trying to be hopeful here. All the great games delayed in 2021? Most of them will see a release in 2022, making 2022 a fantastic year for games at the very least. Those unique, beautifully ugly next gen consoles? More of those will be made so your chance of picking one up will go up a little. Just beat the nasty scalpers to the punch and its yours! Easier said then done of course. Covid? I had hope numbers would drop last year but with people being as incredibly stupid and selfish as they are, it's going to be going strong for awhile . So do what you've been doing. Do your part, stay safe for yourself and those around you.

I hope everyone has a great celebration of the new year and I truly hope 2022 treats us all better then 2021. Keep your heads up, stay safe and try to enjoy the little things. If any of you ever need to talk, please know that I'm here. I'm sure many here will be happy to lend an ear as well. I truly care for you all and I honestly want the best for all of us.
