Featuring Final Fantasy 7 and baroque music,
greetings fellow game music lovers. After Final Fantasy 9, we immediately jump back to part 7 (1997) for the promised baroque related entries.
For that purpose we have a look at a certain 9-note jingle that appears at the beginning of the second movement of the Golden Saucer theme which overall has a pompous, happy-go-lucky tone:
Some people in the comments suspect Bach's BMV 655 to be the source of this sequence. In fact, something comparable can be found in the works of several baroque composers.
Like in Georg Friedrich Händels opera "Almira, Königin von Castilien" (1705):
