I like it here. Sorry, I had to say it right away, but yeah today marks three weeks since I joined this site and everyday I learn something new. I have a LOT to take care over at my profile, Disqus comment section, and how my blogging schedule will be from now on. Back at GameInformer, the previous site where I was an user at, I used to blog in a two days basis (taking some breaks every now and then, of course) and that's something I have been thinking of how to do over here. Let this be a second, more blogger introduction about myself.
Blogging
So far, I have followed my two day basis schedule over here with some long intervals between them, and that's because I have been busy with other things not related to gaming or writing, plus that my Internet just decided to work well again this past weekend. But as far as I am concerned, what I am missing from writing over here (besides deciding on a schedule) is posting pictures in blogs. I like the writing format, TINY, is it? I haven't written blogs since 2018 and to have a word counter right below my words is a challenge I dare myself to take every time I type. By the time I see that I wrote more than 500 words, I either have like 600 or 700 already and it's time to check everything to see what stays and what not.
I have a pending review to post, as well as other blog and I am thinking on mixing or expanding those quick post of mine recently. I can use those to be placing my ideas on my profile and then organize them all together to create a full blog. With Final Fantasy 8 I am preparing a review, well, more like a rant on why the game is just a great missed opportunity. And I have other ideas on my mind that I more than want to see developed.
Comment Section
I joined disqus back in 2018 once GameInformer changed it site interface, but as many of my fellow bloggers and buddies over there left, I found myself in a site limited to only main articles and forums, and that has never catched my attention. The thing with articles I can enjoy, I actually like reading some of them from time to time, but forums, I get lost. Now with blogs, I feel users go personal or express their minds in a way they can connect with an audience (no matter how big or small it may be) and that's amazing. When I see an article written by one of the staff, and the article is thought provoking one, one that goes deep or simply does something different, I feel happy to have learned a second language, English in this case. I am little by little getting the hang of how this works, and leveling up here is a grind I take my time doing, to great results, I hope.
My profile
This is the first time I have used a photo showing my face in a site other than a social media one, and it feels different, it feels fine. That wallpaper you see at the top of my page is one I did years ago of my favorite gaming series (Persona is too, but I decided to go with Resident Evil) and I have to upload the finished one, this one was a test. And that's about it regarding my profile. If I find myself lost at some point, I'll reread the guidelines or ask for help.
So yeah, with only three weeks over here I keep on learning and I am eager to see what I can do at Destructoid. There are a lot of stories waiting to be read within each of its users blogs and quickpost, and I happy to be part of gaming site again.
Thanks for Reading.
