Hot Dogs and Celery

I've spent the last two years of my life balancing major life decisions that may impact how I "game" and putting my future into question regarding how much time I will have to dedicate to gaming.  The reality is that my days of playing Call of Duty everyday until I had to wash myself, while pulling together any self respect I had left, is probably over.  Well...it is over.

I now spend most of my gaming playing whatever is my latest random fix.  Including lately finally getting around to playing Titanfall 2 - which I suppose is my way of playing Apex Legends, without having to deal with playing Apex Legends.  I really love games, I do, but I have come to the realization that I no longer can keep with up the current hot items (Fortnite, Apex Legends, "any other competitive shooter").  I once tried to build stuff in Fortnite and it ended up looking like something that I would make out of cardboard for my cats to avoid spending money on a proper "cat hut".

My major breakthrough this week was actually connecting with people via Discord to try my hand at Apex Legends.  It ended with a kid explaining to me it was his "bed time" after a few bad failures, including forgetting that melee was not mapped to clicking the middle mouse button.  I don't normally stalk 12-year olds but I happened to notice he was still playing Apex according to Discord, eventhough he had deleted me from Origin.  Yep - this is the height of my competitive online shooter experience.

There was a time when I felt competant at an online competitive game, possibly for a short time playing Rocket League a few years ago.

It's been a great last year for games.
