It’s only been a day and I am fully engrossed in Super Mario Odyssey. Even so the series must continue, and it does with this being the 28th installment. Today’s Song is:
Kirby Mass Attack: Scary Graveyard (the scary bit is in how generic the name is)
Kirby Mass attack was a thing way back in 2013. It didn’t get too much in the way of advertising as it was releasing on a console that was being shuttered (NDS). Still, it was a good game all things considered. My only gripe is that there aren’t powers in this game. The best part about Kirby to me is all the different power-ups you can get in the game and finding which ones work best in which level. Beyond that however, the game was great and its unique premise worked well enough to still be fun.
Spooky graveyard was a very obvious choice for the series. As its name implies the area is chock full of spoopy enemies and the usual graveyard fair. It is a very nice theme fitting tile. I also chose it because I felt Mass attack doesn’t get much love in general. In terms of memorable Kirby games Mass Attack is almost on the bottom, right next to Kirby Canvas Curse, which again is a shame because the game is good. I’ll end this by saying that I would love to see this mechanic make a comeback, but as a temporary power up and not the main focus of the game.
