"Chasing Ghosts": In Case King of Kong Wasn't Enough For You.
While The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters has been getting a lot of attention lately, another documentary about the classic arcade scene has slipped under many people's radar. Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade appears to focus more on the history of competitive arcade gaming rather than a good versus evil tale slickly edited to make Billy Mitchell seem like a more prickish Joseph Stalin.
While I loved the hell out of The King of Kong despite the filmmakers' desire not to let the exact truth get in the way of a good story, I'm perhaps even more excited about Chasing Ghosts. CNET has an article about the film you can read here. It kinda reminds me of one of my favorite documentaries, Dogtown and Z-Boys. If you've seen The King of Kong, you'll likely recognize quite a few faces in Chasing Ghosts. I have absolutely no idea when this will be coming to theaters near you or DVD, but in the meantime you can check out the trailer right.... NOW!
