Pizza's too cheap for his own good! Pizza's Multiplayer Thing (6/6/2017)
I was looking into getting a new gaming laptop, until I learned you can take an old Dell, HP, etc. business/school desktop, throw a low-profile graphics card and a new HDD, and get an entry-level desktop for a fraction of the price! I’ll just keep my current laptop as a light gaming and editing machine on-the-go.
I’m looking into this desktop. I’ll need to get a bigger power supply, a copy of Windows, more RAM and a HDD, but it’s the best price for that model used that I can find. I have a mouse and keyboard and monitor, so I just need the desktop. I’m still deciding whether to start with a smaller SSD for a larger Hybrid Drive.
I’m also looking into this graphics card. I think I can go bigger, but I want to play it safe. A 750ti is usually recommended, but I’d rather have a newer card so the build is somewhat future-proof. I mainly play Overwatch and indies on PC, but it’d be nice to have the larger titles I own run better.
I’ll gladly take advice from any tech-savvy folk who happen to be reading this!
