Hey everyone! It's been a long time since my last blog but I'll have you all know that I passed academy and it's actually been almost a full year since I joined the Fire Department of THE BIG APPLE!! So after four months of a grueling and like I don't know if I'm going to make it academy (and the worst part about it was how my video games suffered and it created the dreaded BACKLOG for me), I made it through and am working in lower Manhattan/Tribeca area. So being a fireman is just like you guys thought it was, usually after teaming up with either the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, or whatever other million comic universes exist in the New York City area, we go back to the Firehouse and obviously respond to the other emergenices.
It's pretty cool, like I said (in my last blog), I recently graduated; in the fact it hasn't even been a year since I've been out of college but now I've been working in Tribeca with a "career" (what an old-fart!). I've been to a few big ones and other emergencies and yes I do love breaking down all the doors in Manhattan but this blog here is more about my comeback more than my fireman life!
So what's up with the game life?
Ever since I came back my semi-professional Smash 4 career has been kinda on a standby. The updates and patches to the game, create an inconsistent meta plus I hate bayonetta so I actually put down the sticks for a while and have only really been towards winning locals rather than traveling towards nationals. [plus my job so I ain't got time like that!]
I do have 3 more combo videos from old stuff coming out just been to lazy to edit and put them up! So be on the lookout for that on my youtube (the plug at the end though!)
But, on a "let's play some real games" note, I've been trying to run through a pltheroa of games:
Did I forget to mention the PS4 I haven't bought yet??? (and I didn't mention like the other half which I beat and need to play)
I know all these first world problems. What a jerk this Troy guy is, having a job and wanting to play more video games.
On the BIGGEST NOTE: THANK YOU DESTRUCTOID
Why? Because after everyday of the academy, I would come home and I read Destructoid and eat dinner. It's not a lot, but I didn't have time in the academy to play games, I didn't have time to watch TV, I had to study and wake up at 4am everyday, but when I would get home at around 7-8pm DTOID always provided me with entertainment and something to do. Be it the hilarious comment section, some news on games I want to buy or don't want to buy, or just reading Chris running and reviewing a million games, or hearing Holmes (who did feature my Ryu guide on Dtoid and sponsored me for a bit in Smash) go on with his quirky interviews, they were always here.
Plus you guys all came onto my going away blog and wished me luck and that meant a lot that I can't describe. Thank you guys! Glad to be back with the robots and back to gaming!
Shoutouts to: Hyper Lemon Buster Cannon, Mike Martin, Elsa, Retrofaction, and all you lovable goons!
