Somewhere in hell, there's a snowball fight happening right now. After announcing the price drop of the PS3, thousands of consumers (41,005) went to their local stores, and picked up a PS3.
Here's how the sales figures boil down: The gimmick machine, the Wii, came in first with 76,394 units sold this past week. Sony overtook Microsoft with their 41,005, and Microsoft came in third with 35,084. So in short, Nintendo outsold Sony and Microsoft combined.
Can Sony keep this up? I don't think so. After those 60GB consoles are gone, and Sony has the $600 80GBs on their hands, I think Sony will go right back to where they belong: The cellar.
