Ign has a
hand-on preview of a new exclusive Wii title name de Blob. From the looks of it, it appears to be a strange platformer mash up of
Loco Roco,
Katamari Damacy, and Tony Hawk's Graffiti Tag mode. It's actually based on a
student created game formerly known as
The Blob. The original version is available for
free download, so you can give it a try now. The game has been redesigned to work with the Wii controls; hopefully they're taking the time to do it right.
The story has something to do with evil color
Nazis sucking the pigment out of the world to make everything look like a
generic sci-fi FPS. You play as de Blob, a
morbidly obese alien with the ability to absorb color and splatter it all over the buildings and scenery you roll across. This will apparently improve things, and make a bitch of a mess for
Mario to clean up with his FLUDD. The goal in each level is to reach a certain point total within the time limit by chaining together combos and solving puzzles. There was something about a
tentacle rape minigame too, but
I didn't pay attention.
Right now the game looks like it might be pretty fun. Check out the
preview, and take a peek at the released
images and
videos. There'll probably be a lot more about this title next week at e3, so stay tuned.
