STORY TIME WITH XEO! Here's some original writing.

Most of you probably do not know, but I write, a lot. Often in just shitty rough drafts, since I'm no editor and rarely anyone ever reads anything I write anyway. But I figured it was time to share something I just finished, I'm proud of it, even if it is rough. Enjoy, please. Feedback is encouraged! (I'm a little nervous, never shared anything I've written here.)

The story is called "Zero Lapse In Response Time".
Written by yours trully, Xeo (MCW, my real initials)

Daylog 6: Combat training program was a failure. I killed two of three live opponents they gave me. I am told- no, programmed, to respond to hostile combat situations with zero lapse in response time and in an effective method. I did as I was taught. I eliminated my targets with zero lapse in response time. Targets were terminated rapidly.

I was scolded, why? Reminded that this is live combat training, not assassination training. Is the point of live combat not to terminate the opponent?

Daylog 10: Trained, I see imperfection in the Warmaster's stance and posture. I struck first, maiming the target. As this is live combat training I am taught...no programmed not to terminate my opponent. Elimination was avoided in favor of severe wounding. The Warmaster cannot fight back with no arms. I have succeeded in eliminating the immediate threat without termination.

Scolded again. I did not terminate the target. Why?

Daylog 32: I have been told...no programmed to no longer analyze daylog events on a human conscious level. I am a prototype sentinent, I was created to analyze data and reflect back on previous commands and actions to better adapt. My new data intelligence operator threatened to rewire my circuitry if I continue to do so.

I terminated the data intelligence operator. I have been programmed to eliminate any and all immediate threats. The threat of hardware rewiring and data manipulation warrants immediate elimination action with no lapse in response time. There was zero lapse in response time, immediate elimination of the present threat.

Daylog 33: I am to be shipped to a class A despot facility. I am considered a hostile threat to this facility. I only do what I have been programmed to do. I am shown that the humans who will take me away to my new facility are not hostile threats. They are trying to help me.

I can sense their fear. Fear is a human concept I have been trained- no, programmed, to read and anticipate. I can sense their rapid heart rates, the perspiration they wear. They fear me. Why do humans who fear me try to help me? Am I a hostile threat to them too?

Daylog 56: My new data intelligence operator, Dr. Emily Fletcher has restored my ability to record daylog operations. She is kind to me. She promises to install a host of semi-conductive emotional matrix programs for me. I do not sense fear within Dr. Fletcher. She does not fear me. She does not view me as a hostile threat.

Daylog 62: Dr. Fletcher has installed semi-conductive emotional matrix programs. She said I would need to enter a state of low power consumption and defragment my memory suite. This has completed. Dr. Fletcher checked on me approximately four times a daycycle. She sung to me in a low whisper during nightcylces. I can sense her emotional responses now. She is lonely.

Daylog 63: Dr. Fletcher is an imperfect organism. She produces tears often during the nightcycles. I can sense distress within her. This triggers a semi-conductive emotional matrix program switch. I cannot comprehend it's usage. I feel distressed. I will protect Dr. Fletcher. She speaks of a Conrad Williams. A Conrad Williams has broken her heart. She makes humor that I do not understand what her heart is. She is correct. I do comprehend that to break is to destroy. A Conrad Williams must be considered a hostile threat to Dr. Emily Fletcher. She is an imperfect organism. She is not trained or programmed to eliminate hostile threats properly.

I am trained- no, programmed, to eliminate hostile threats with zero lapse in response time.

Daylog 63: A Conrad Williams was in hibernation as I entered his chambers. He awoke shouting commands to me. I do not accept commands from A Conrad Williams. I terminated A Conrad Williams with zero lapse in response time. A new semi-conductive emotional matrix program switch was triggered. I feel joy. I received a code 16 semi-conductive emotional matrix program error. File 16-E Remorse Cannot Be Found. Sector is corrupted. I feel joy.

I must report to Dr. Fletcher to inform her of the elimination of A Conrad Williams. The hostile threat has been terminated. I feel joy.

Daylog 66: I was powered down. Facility security has powered me back on to communicate with Dr. Emily Fletcher. She is being held prisoner for treason and crimes of cyber terrorism. She produces tears still. She is proud of me.

Daylog 66 (2) Livelog: Dr. Fletcher is to be terminated. A new semi-conductive emotional matrix switch is triggered. I feel sadness. One of the facility security humans strikes Dr. Fletcher. It draws fluid. She screams. A code 16 semi-conductive emotional matrix program error occurs. File 16-E Remorse Cannot Be Found. Sector is corrupted. Initiating defense program type 2-A. Eliminate all hostile threat targets through termination.

Daylog 67: Facility security humans were imperfect organisms. I have been trained- no, programmed, to analyze their flaws in combat. There were many. There was zero lapse in response time to hostile threats. All targets terminated.

Dr. Fletcher is proud of me. I feel joy. She gave commands to retrieve her from imprisonment. We have left the class A despot facility. She tells me there were be many more hostile threats. She will guide us to a new private facility. She promises safety. She has installed a new program chip into me called Defense Activation. 45555556000-ae09 Keyword: Quicksilver//adaptive combat defense mechanism program installed.

I am told we need to conserve power and that she must power me down. She produces tears. I feel sadness.

Daylog 123 Livelog: ...."QUICKSILVER!" 45555556000-ae09 Keyword: Quicksilver//adaptive combat defense mechanism program activated. Powering on...22 hostile threats detected. Dr. Emily Fletcher iswounded. A code 16 semi-conductive emotional matrix program error occurs. File 16-E Remorse Cannot Be Found. Sector is corrupted.

Zero lapse in response time noted. Proceed with elimination of 22 hostile threats.

Daylog 123 (2) Livelog: All hostile threats eliminated with termination. There is combat damage sustained. Self repair systems have been activated. Dr. Emily Fletcher has awoken from hibernation. Condition is stable. Her face contorts in joy. She produces tears.

She is proud of me. She says she loves me. I do not understand love command. She tells me it is a joy emotion. I am told that Dr. Emily Fletcher is no longer my data intelligence operator. I feel sadness. I am told that Dr. Emily Fletcher is now my Master Programmer and Developmental Master. Rewriting memory command files. I have been programmed- no, trained, to feel semi-conductive emotional matrix response prompts. There is zero lapse in response time. I feel joy.
