So, I didn't write any recaps for last week because of the Destructoid Downtime of 2016. You'd THINK I'd have more to say, but in all honestly, life is somewhat busy. In addition to just taking care of the daily grind of life, I've been contributing more free time to my pet project, so I haven't had the time to play as much videogames, or reading blogs, as I would've liked. Honestly, I've been comtemplating stepping down as a Recapper because it's becoming quite clear that I only really read blogs that get posted on Saturday, and it's not really fair to the community.
Even when I finally do play videogames, I don't feel like turning on my brain, so I just play a lot of braindead titles such as Star Wars: Battlefront. At least it's one of the most addictive, and prettiest, multiplayer shooters ever, so that's a plus. I really want to go back into playing Fallout 4 though, but it's stressful trying to remember all of the side quests I want to do, as well as fearing the infamous glitches. I do keep a rotation of saves, but sometimes it doesn't seem like it's enough. >^<
I do want to talk a bit about how much I like Mad Max: Fury Road. I honestly didn't even expect to like it — I bought the Blu-Ray all the way back in September and never even popped it into my PS3 once — but once I finally buckled down and watched it, it was utterly amazing. The action sequences were great, the practical effects blew me away, and while the story was pretty light, the world building is amazing. Everyone having their own terms such as "witness me!" and "you traitored him!" felt like the world was given a lot of thought. I've been meaning to watch it again, but I wonder if rewatching a movie so soon would ruin the impact of it.
I do want to get back into playing more videogames though, which is why I want to buy Life is Strange and Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam next week. Thankfully, Life is Strange is only like $30, and Paper Jam is about $40, so with my Best Buy Gamer's Club Unlocked 20% off discount, I should be able to afford them both. It would be easier to eat the cost if I traded in Earth Defense Force 4.1 — I honestly only played it for two hours — but I feel like I'd regret it if I do. Plus, it's not like I hate EDF 4.1, I'm just never in the mood for that kind of game. When I finally do some more gaming, I wanna get a more... story-based experience.
I also wanna get Until Dawn because EVERYONE seems to recommend it. PLEASE be on sale this week. >^<
Oh wait, LEGO Dimensions is getting the Ghostbusters pack next week too? But my wallet is already on life support. T^T
