What to shoot stuff? Enlisted, Sldner-X! (Update)

If any of you have seen the last Non-Newsground by Jim Sterling, or Jim Sterlmblebee as I see him, you would know that I purchased something from Play-Asia.com and in turn signed up for their newsletter. Little did I expect, there was an update on a new shooter coming out. The first details are out and now so are the screenshots on the project that is initiated and supported by Play-Asia themselves. The game of this game is Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer.

This game by developers SideQuest Studios is currently 35% done and they just released eight screenshots from the third world titled "Hyper Space Assault". In this world, some of the stages included are Open Space, Asteroid Belt, and Space Fleet, so you know they are making the levels varied. Some neat additions added to the game are beautiful parallax graphics and galaxy fog effects which will add to the experience in this particular world.

Not much is known about this game, the developers haven't even announced what platform it will appear on, but one of the features listed on its site is "high definition graphics in 720p (16:9)" which lends out the idea that this game could hit Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Network. The game is set to come out later this year unless there are some problems along the way.

12 stages of beautiful parallax graphics and animations, staged across 4 fantastic world/space settings
High definition graphics in 720p (16:9)
Beautiful weather effects (such as rain, fog and lightning)
Detailed background animations
Classic design, yet state-of-the-art shooter technology
Unique upgrade weapon system with five standard weapon types
Never before seen tactical elements such as chaining, effectiveness system, 'berserker' mode and much more
Plenty of hidden bonus features
More than 20 extras (with both positive and negative effects!)
Addictive collection quests
Over-the-top boss fights
Features a superb soundtrack and sound effects
Bi-lingual story mode (English/Japanese)
Three modes of difficulty: easy, normal, hard
Easy to learn, yet tough to master
Online high score ranking
Constant frame rate (60fps)

The site also lists a story as well as banners, logos, and icons to help you pimp out Sldner-X: Himmelsstrmer as much as possible. They also have a forum set up for direct input on the game and a link to the developers, SideQuest Studios, to tell them what you as a gamer like and don't like. It is said that all constructive feedback will be considered and could be featured in the game. Better yet, they turned the guest feature on so you don't even have to register to submit stuff in the forum. I think it is save to say we should tell them it needs a big ole Robot helment in the cockpit of the game, haha I said cock.

This game looks great and I think it is a good idea to let the gamers voice their opinion on the game and help out the developers to make a great game.
