So, i been thinking a lot lately about the dissapearance of the good'ol arcades. In my city, there are just two or three... since the 2005 or so and with the wider availability of online playing, the incentive to go to the arcades to bicker against other dudes in fighting games was lost. Now only old men like me go there, last time i saw just one kid there, nor a bunch of students sneaking in, like it was in the late 90's
But anyway, i went to my local arcade and take a bunch of pictures, just to show you guys and gals how lovely it is to go to spend some cash there and try a gaming experience you probably couldn't get anywhere else.
(Sorry guys for the quality of some of these pictures, and for the small frame of them... the C-Blogs shrunk them at a more appropriate size. All the pictures were taken by me in Santiago, Chile)
First, some racing arcades, my first arcade love back when i was a kid.
from left ro right: H2O Overdrive - Dirty Drivin - Batman - SnoCross
Daytona USA - Mario Kart GP Arcade - Fast & Furious Supercars
Now, some light gun games:

House of the Dead 4 - Guitar Hero - Ghost Squad - House of the Dead 2 - Silent Scope X
Some Pinball Machines
The Twilight Zone - Elvis - ACDC - Transformers - Godzilla - The Rolling Stones - The Sopranos
Rhythm? games and one that defies clasification. PS: The DDR crew didn't let me take pictures of their antics...
DJ MAX Technica 3 - Beatmania II DX - Alpine Racer 3
And the most represented genre on the arcades: FIGHTING GAMES!
Mortal Kombat - Mortal Kombat 2 - Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition - Street Fighter 3 Third Strike - Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
Tekken Tag Tournament - Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion - Soul Calibur III Arcade Edition
King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Edition - King of Fighters 2002 - King of Fighters 2002 Ultimate Match
Capcom VS SNK - Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter - Blazblue Continuum Shift
Tatsunoko vs Capcom - Akatsuki Blitzkampf Ausf Achse - Melty Blood Actress Again
And to finish, some good oldies. Some of these were the ones i grow up with...
Super Speed Race - MS. Pacman - Space Invaders
New Rally X - Pacman Arcade Party - Rygar
Also, I didn't take pictures of every game, some people didnt like the idea of a random guys taking pictures of them while playing... And that's all folks! i hope you enjoyed my small tribute to a soon-to-be-lost place of video game history.
