I feel like I've gone a little bit head over heels for skating again and it's a bit too much. At some point this is going to have to die down (not out though!) because other more important shit will come along. I've already had skating interrupt two friend's birthday's and that's not cool. And now it's getting in the way of my working out, with a fucked up wrist I can't put a lot of pressure on I won't be able to do my workout routine today and maybe even tomorrow. Sigh but as Louis CK said, for now weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Seriously it's fun and I'm not ashamed at doing what I want to do which includes getting angry at cats who keep my up all night so I won't be able to wake up proper and go to the best skatepark in town for 6am (seriously cats suck about this and if you venture down to the basement you've probably seen me bitching about them) but fuck that I did it now. Fun fact: skateparks are desolate in the early hours of the morning, that seems to be when a lot of professional skaters go to parks and spots to film too. That way they don't get bothered and whatnot. But for the layman noob like myself it's just great to have all that space to do whatever you like. I could dry hump the beautiful manny pad for all anyone cares or can do about it. Seriously I love this park's manny pads. Just the right height, and at about 30 feet long it gives you a nice challenge to try to get all the way through. There's also a smaller and shorter one that's good for practicing on. But point is, if I made a skatepark it'd be all manny pads of different sizes and variety, and ramps to get speed for those said manny pads. Manny pads yo.
One thing I really like about skateboarding and how the atmosphere has changed since I stopped skating last time is how friendly everyone is now. Any skate park or spot where there are other skaters they will be talking and inviting you for conversation. It's a great opportunity to make new friends and also talk about all sorts of shit. That deck your riding, what size is that? Did you see the new Enjoi video, I can't find it online. You're not ollie-ing properly, here's what you should be doing. All sorts of shit. It's cool to have people to talk to about the thing you both enjoy and I swear it was never like this for me before. Maybe it's that I'm older and no one wanted to talk to a teenager way back when but that can't be it either. It's gotta be then that skateboarding is just this meritocracy: you show up every day to the same park/spot and don't give up, they'll like you. You have to keep skating even when you ate it and your arm hurts like hell, try again. There's a certain respect for that, even if you aren't Daewon Song or Rodney Mullen or Chris Cole or Riley Hawk or Tony Hawk, and that's what I respect most about this sport and what will probably destroy my body. Oh well.
So what else do we have to talk about? I like Eric Andre. Watch this video and then this one.
Oh speaking of cats you know what's awesome when a cool cat shows his/her face to FNF and suddenly you have new blood to play with an awesome game you love/haven't seen on FNF in awhile. See the first image below but that finally happened for me, Krigo and I will be lobby hosting Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown and he'll probably butt stomp me but it will be fun. We played Daytona USA last time and that was a blast too. Also speaking of games I haven't mp'd in awhile with anyone.. But also Phil and I need to do some Starhawk sometime. Shit is good and I know I've been telling him we should FNF it for ages now. Note to self, FNF Starhawk. I need to pick up the new Mortal Kombat too so I can get wrecked by Phil and whoever else, seriously it's a bit of a disgrace to not have that FNF'd here yet, just saying.
Lastly on the menu tonight I love me some YS there's no lying about that. I finally got to starting Origins (gifted to me by awesome Ooktar!) and it's a thrill to be playing that. Seriously since Celceta I've not found another RPG that gets close to the feeling I get playing this game. Celceta was so good I just want a new Ys game or even Celceta ported to PS4 but until then I can go back to the already released ones. Origins is almost everything I loved about playing Celceta: goooood story/interesting characters, killer soundtrack, awesome combat that isn't turn based like a lot of other JRPGs, lovely art style. It's the perfect package for me save for one thing and that is that I do not want to be playing this on a PC keyboard. Bleh. It works so poorly this game was clearly made for a controller but playing it (and coupled with my now bad wrist) I feel like it's going to give me carpal tunnel. But still I play it. I will need to look into if it has controller support on steam. If not give up and wait for it to be ported to Playstation. No I'm kidding but controller support would be just peachy if otherwise totally unlikely.
I guess a better title for this blog would've been "I love to do shit that hurts myself".
Oh well on to games.
Games Bro!!

Welcome to the Playstation side of Friday Night Fights! Every Friday, members of the community get together online to play games and all you need to join is a user account. Down below, you'll find a list of games that we'll play tonight along with the times they'll start, the people that you should hit up for invites, and any other information that you may need.
If you want to play, leave a comment with the games from the schedule you want to play and your PSN name. You should also send a PSN friend request to the host and mention your username here in the message so they know you're one of the cool people and not just some random friend request.
If your favorite game isn't on the schedule, host it yourself! You just need to give us the game, start time, and your PSN name so people know what, when and who. It's also wise to list DLC requirements, game or server names, and anything else people might need to join just so you don't need to message it to everyone individually. Last minute additions in the comments here are fine, but games can also be added earlier in the week by visiting the forums and finding the thread with the coming Friday's date. Adding a game there ensures it's on the blog from the moment it goes up.
