This is less of a blog-post and more of a PSA, but Rocket League just released on the Playstation Store and it’s pretty much the best thing I’ve played all year.
I’m gonna make this quick so I can eat and then keep playing. What’s Rocket League? Football, but with cars that have nitro instead of people. 3 v 3 matches, giant arenas, and the ability to make your car flip, as well as run up walls and ceilings. You can use a truck, turbo boost, jump, and then scissorkick a giant ball into a goal. If you’re still reading this and NOT pulling out your wallet in front of the PSN store, I’m dissapointed in you.
This is one of those games that you need to have played to really understand the appeal, if you still aren’t convinced (and you totally should be). The physics are fantastic. There is nothing more satisfying than hitting the ball mid-jump. Plus there’s tons of customization to make cool cars.
So yeah. Rocket League. Get it. And I know I’ve been PSN-biased right now, but that’s because it’s free for PS+ users. It’s also on the PC, if you’re into that sort of thing.
