Animator Monty Oum has Passed Away

Monty Oum, animator of RoosterTeeth's RWBY, choreographer of Red versus Blue, and animator of Haloid, a Halo Metroid crossover fight between Master Chief and Samus Aran, a video Destructoid covered way back in 2007. On January 21st, Oum fell comatose from an allergic reaction during a standard medical checkup, and passed away earlier today surrounded by friends and loved ones. RoosterTeeth opened up funding channels for fans who wanted to help pay for his treatment, but it seems things were too far gone.

Nothing has been said of what will happen to the projects he was working on, it's probably for the best that time be given for those he worked with to grieve and figure things out.
