I'm not actually American, so I don't celebrate this holiday, but I do eat Turkey so it's fine.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am thankful for a great many things; this massive cardigan I'm wearing, the fact that I was brave enough to buy an aubergine, and this picture I have of David Bowie wearing a knitted catsuit, but to name a few.
Gaming gratitude however, is a whole different kettle of fish altogether! For example, if I wanted people to take this post seriously, I would admit that when I saw Nintendo's announcement of Majora's Mask 3D last night, I almost cried tears of joy (I was on a coach, and it would have be rather awkward).
But obviously, this post is pretty stupid already, so I'd like to keep the tone consistant. Instead, I want to give thanks for the octopus that appears in that great old game: Super Smash Bros Brawl. This mammoth mollusk appears whenever the character Mr Game and Watch uses a smash ball. Once released, Mr Octopus will float above the stage and cause a respectable level of mayhem.
What really makes him special though, is, of course, the use of our own wonderful imagination. By adding what we think Mr Octopus sounds like to the visual picture, the experience is so much more wholesome. Examples have ranged from; gulping noises, heavy breathing, reading out the Soccer league table results and classic high-pitched screaming.
So when you all sit down after your Thanksgiving dinners to play Super Smash Bros Brawl with your families (I know you will!), engage each other further with this fun-filled exercise.
Happy Thanksgiving!
