Watch_Dogs on Wii U has potential to be system seller

   0
For gamers, this coming fall will be an open-world aficionados dream come true. First off we have Grand Theft Auto 5 coming out on PS3 and Xbox 360(PC version unconfirmed as of now but things can change) followed by Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag for those previously mentioned systems, Wii U, PC, PS4 & XboxOne. Those two games alone can provide a considerable amount of enjoyment if you delve into what they have to offer, making the price well worth what you receive from what precious time you put in.

However one game seems to hold a huge amount of allure for me and that is Watch_Dogs(coming to PS3,Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, PS4, & XboxOne). The whole aspect and tagline of the game that "Everything is Connected" cannot be ignored nor can it be understated. Being able to control/manipulate your surroundings such as traffic lights, road pylons, cameras, cellular phones and other electronic gadgetry holds immense promise from a gameplay standpoint.

One aspect of Watch_Dogs gameplay that has me really excited is the companion app capabilities. Now companion apps have tremendous potential when it comes to playing games. I have only used one companion app and it was for Mass Effect 3. Mind you this is most certainly not the best example of how to make a phenomenal addition to your gaming experience but it was a start. Having control of your own character while using the app to jimmy rig some sort of obstacle to help you out in a mission seems tantilizing.

That being said, I truly feel that what is being touted as an extension of your control then where better to play the FULL experience than with a controller that already has a touch screen built in? Rather than having to switch what is physically in your hands at the time of playing why not just get the game that has the most integrated set of controls? The Wii U is a system I am going to buy one day and I sincerly believe Nintendo should be doing there best to promote that this is going to be a fantastic game to play on the Wii U.

I know that there has not been any footage released for the Wii U controls but that still doesn't deter me from holding out hope that this game will be a ton of fun on the Wii U. Hopefully some gameplay for the Wii U is released. Personally I really try to avoid watching any trailers/gameplay footage apart from the first trailer so as to avoid spoiling anything about the game's plot but I will make an exception for that.

So do I have a point? Let me know what you think!?

About SamWHYZone of us since 9:37 PM on 02.06.2012

Gaming is an intense passion of mine, among other things....

Started gaming with the Sega Genesis, saving weekly allowances of 5 buckareenos to purchase new games. Really enjoyed the Alladin game, World of Illusion with Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck, FIFA, NBA Jam, & the Mortal Kombat series. Got into PC gaming, playing such titles as Kings Quest IV, Warcraft 2, Starcraft, Command & Conquer Red Alert 2, Diablo, Duke Nukem, & Serious Sam. I then proceeded to work my way up to a Nintendo 64 then Playstation and was blown away! Such stellar games like Zelda Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong, Banjo & Kazooie, Goldeneye for 64 & Final Fantasy IX, Brave Fencer Musashi, The Tenchu Series, Lunar Silver Star Story, MGS, Silent Hill for the PS! Then mustered up the moola again for a PS2 which didn't seem to play DVD's all that well for me but had phenomenal games such as the original NBA Street, SSX, Final Fantasy X, Shadow of Colossus, God of War. Bought a PS3 along with an HDTV after saving for a year to travel to Europe. Thought I would buy that stuff before I returned with no money! Quite underwhelmed at first but then FIFA 08 came out which was unreal. Also bought the under appreciated Warhawk which also started to warm me up to this generation of consoles. Dead Space really intrigued me and gave me hope for the Survival Horror genre in this generation as well, although it seems to need some new life injected into it instead of all this action! PS3 broke in 2010 so decided to try out Xbox 360 and was thoroughly impressed! Mass Effect was alot of fun, Alan Wake too. Supermeatboy made me glad that games can still challenging and not hold your hand so much!

Enjoy reading sci-fi, Tolkien-esque fantasy ala Game of Thrones, & documentary novels. Exercising, playing soccer, dancing are also hobbies of mine.
