While it seems to normally be a faux pas to link external article posts rather than writing here, I figured it'd be okay to mention I recently got posted at Ashly Burch's
How Games Saved My Life, since she's old-(or mid-?)guard Destructoid, and the site was given
a front page post back when it first appeared. It's
a little anecdote regarding Age Of Empires II, and while the tagline's a bit inaccurate, the term "first love" is bound to get more hits than "second or third reasonable romantic pursuit," so I'll let it stand. Read some of the other stuff there, too; I have, and it's been blowing my mind just how widespread a phenomenon deeply impacting or correlating gaming really is. And by all means, submit there if you've got your own story to tell, as last I checked, she claims to be running low on submissions.
In other news, There Would've Been Brawl still has three more posts, and I am not just bailing on it like I did my rushed, ill-thought-out 12 Days Of Gamer Christmas or whatever from last year. It just so happens that Princess Peach is busy filming the webshow she stars in, Sonic's forgetful or busy or both, and Ganondorf is doing... everything? I think he was at some sort of convention over the weekend, and today he posted a pic of him with mo-cap dots glued to his face. So yeah, bit of a break until they can catch breaks themselves.
In the meantime, brewing some more NanDEMOnais, even though no one reads them, starting with one on the demo for Cursed Crusade. IGN already has a review up of the game, if you're curious as to what to expect, and I'm praying that if anyone draws the straw to trudge through the whole thing for a review here, it ends up being Jim. That, and maybe some blabbering about Monstermind and the starts of a couple other regular ideas I've considered starting, if I can find time to stay awake. Working two jobs when you're covering for your vacationing manager at one and trying to squeeze in time for things you actually like? Not so easy.
