Dice: Gamers know exactly what a beta is.

   0

Dice, gamers DO know what a beta is. We also know that if you chose to release this version less than a month from launch, with no patches so far, with no release version notes (platform specific), and with little communication from the developers... then the final version can't be too far off the current beta. Gamers also now know that the true beta phase will be when we put down our $60.00 to buy your game. I want your game to be successful. I want a new nightly shooter for my PS3. I want to love Battlefield 3... but I don't want to pay to beta test your game for the next six months until you get it right. If this current "beta" is nowhere near what the final release will be like... then release a damn demo! Prove us wrong. Prove that the game is indeed complete and that everything has been fixed. Please!

EDIT: Possibly if the devs don't want actual "beta" feedback because gamers are not testing a current version and have no idea what is or isn't fixed in the current iteration of the game, then maybe they should have simply called this a 'server stress test" and NOT a beta. Being a beta test implies more than simply stress testing servers. Gamers know this. Apparently, the devs are the one's that don't.

About Elsaone of us since 2:27 PM on 01.25.2009

I'm 55 years old. I'm female, a cancer survivor, happily married, and retired from the work force... and I spend way too much time gaming. I enjoy long walks on the beach, with a gun, sometimes with my husband - shooting n00bs.
I not only like to shoot people, I also enjoy cooking and crafting. Mostly I make my own armor in games like Skyrim and cook my own potions after a busy day of hacking and slashing my way through various critters, guards and bandits in most any WRPG game.

If you're into a threesome or foursome with a mature couple, then come join us - only be sure to bring a med kit. We're old, sometimes we fall down and can't get back up without some help!
