Getting Started

Well then. I've been meaning to start blogging here for quite a while now, yet I never got around to it. Now I've gotten around to it. So what better way to kick off my first blog than to introduce myself to you, the Destructoid community.

You can call me Swishiee, for starters. Swishiee is a nickname that I've had for fifteen years now. It's a play off my last name, but that's a story for another time (maybe). I've been visiting Destructoid for over a year now. I used to visit every so often to see what was up, but I never visited on a daily basis. That all changed several months ago with the start of The Destructoid Show. I came to Destructoid and watched an episode, and after that I found myself coming here more often. It was then when I really became captivated. I could tell that Destructoid was a no bullshit news site. The gaming site I used to visit for my news, who shall be left unnamed, just didn't feel right anymore.

Destructoid has way more than any other gaming site I've ever visited. The community is rad, and I'm only scratching the surface of the community here so far. Not to mention the news editors who write their true opinion in articles, whether it's what everyone wants to hear, or what nobody wants to hear. Not to mention they get involved with the community through multiple outlets such as the newly instated chat and Twitter. Everything with Destructoid just clicks together, and it makes me happy and proud to be a part of it.

So that's pretty much it. I plan on blogging here more in the future. Any maybe one of these days I'll end up visiting the forums. One of these days... Thanks for reading!
