Woman. Daughter. Sister. Aunt. Niece. Cousin. Friend.
Tech junkie. Gamer. Bookworm. Musician.
Abnormal.
Original.
Those are just a few terms that describe me in some sense.
My name is Dawndrell. Some people call me Dawn, a lot of my friends call me "Drell." Heck some of them even call me "D-rell." Either of those names is fines. I will not, however, answer to "Pssst!" or "Ay, ay girl, ay!"
I was born and raised in a small town in North Florida where I still reside.
Gaming is in my blood thanks to A) and older sister and B) Atari. My older sister had an Atari and I remember she only had three games: Pac-man, E.T., and some shooting game that I don't remember the name of. So yeah, I started gaming at a young age. I say 5, but I'm pretty sure I was younger. My consoles of choice are anything from the Playstation line and the Wii, but I also do a bit of PC gaming.
I have always been a tech junkie, always. Everything I know about computers and gaming, I learned on my own. I'm a self taught walking, talking, book of technological information that actually sometimes comes in handy on the off chance that someone wants a recommendation for a new computer or a new video game. That being said, it came as a shock to many when I went off to college and majored in Biology. Back then, I had a thing for science too, and it seemed to be the path that I wanted to go down. Now that it's over and done with, I feel that I did myself and injustice and I'm actually thinking about going back to college to get a degree in a differently major ... something to do with tech.
But what makes me abnormal you ask? Well, for gamers, none of what I have said about myself is abnormal. But, for people who just know me in passing, and even to a few of my friends, it's strange to them that a woman is so interested in video games and technology. It catches a lot of men off guard when they hear me use terms like MMO or refer to FMV games. I have even had a few say "Uhm, what is that?" But you know what, I love it! Abnormal has always been normal to me.
As far as D-Toid, I'm so glad that I found such a diverse and unique community. I believe it was about 2 weeks ago that I stumbled upon the D-Toid channel on J-TV. For those who follow that stream regularly, I am the infamous Missdrell83. Anyway, since then, I have met loads of fun characters, and have even been invited to help out with the
D-Toid Florida group. I really look forward to helping D-Toid become a part of the great state of Florida again!
I have some video game favorites of mine listed in my "About Me" to the right. I will put some contact info on there as well so that if anyone is interested in information about D-Toid Florida, or if someone just wants to drop me a line, they can. Until next time .....!
