It's not every day that the metal genre of a whole evolves, music changes, some one uses an instrument, and it becomes a staple, certain arragnments of vocals are used, and everyone takes note, and as an entire body of listeners, we are pleased.
When Flotsam and Jetsam released their 10th studio album, it was not one of those days, but god dammit was it a good day.
Most people well know Flotsam and Jetsam, for once being the home of Jason newsted, which is a shame, because the band has come so very far since his departure. Gone are the days of relentless thrash, and fingerbleeding speed, and they have been gone for some time. Cuatro, released in 1992, was a technical masterpeice, with incredibly clean and smooth riffs, rythms, and sound. From a studio stanpoint, it was near perfect. Gone was most of the thrash, in place of more gutural rock, and sweeping metal ballads.
