In 17 days, our first Ranbat will happen. So far we have 30 players, which I'm quite impressed with. This Ranbat will take place over a few weeks and should be pretty intense. All of the details are available at
http://www.destructoid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18219. I'll post the latest information both here and in the forums. We need this to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. In order to accomplish that, the rules will be enforced without mercy. If we all follow the rules, everything will run smoothly.
Upcoming events and games Once the SSFIV Ranbat finishes, we'll be close to the release of BlazBlue Continuum Shift. Ideally, I want to have tournaments for all fighters possible so that we can get as many players involved as possible. In order to accomplish this, after the SSFIV Ranbat, I'm planning some SBO-style, single elimination tournaments. These will proceed faster than the SSFIV Ranbat and allow us to get a few more events during the year. This would also allow me to provide rankings for SSFIV, BB: CS, KoF XII and overall. I think this will add a bit more depth to the Fight Club rankings. At this point, I think I'll try for a KoF XII and then a BB: CS Ranbat series. That will end the season unless we have a lot of players who want a Battle Fantasia Ranbat. Let me know in the comments.
Training Advice Playing lots of players is good training but I prefer smaller crowds with open discourse. For the first time ever, I got into a room with a friend and we played each other for a few hours. We would play a few "real" games and then switch over to theory testing. This helped both of us improve our games and the shared knowledge forces both of us to come up with new and more creative strategies. Since that session, I've gotten a lot of comments on how my Juri has evolved. Remember: We're a community and our growth is dependent upon each other.
