Games as art; Gamers are the artists

Recently, after finishing ff13, starting to play Valkryia chronicles again, continuing the SC2 beta, and getting nostalgic with Okami, I started to think about that age old argument that games are art, or not art. It's always been a interesting story to follow. People have strong opinions one way or another and can back them up properly, making a true definitive answer, very unclear.
